The Heart Station at the Allied Care Experts (ACE) Medical Center - Baypointe is a non-invasive unit of Cardiology. It provides diagnostic procedures that detect cardiovascular abnormalities and diseases on either an inpatient or outpatient basis, and to both adult and pediatric patients. The procedures are performed by skilled and competent staff with vast clinical experience.
Electrocardiogram (ECG)
A 12-lead electrocardiogram measures electrical activity of the heart. By placing electrodes at specific locations on the body, a graphic image, or tracing, of the heart's electrical activity can be viewed. The tracing is then read by a cardiologist
2D Echocardiogram
2D Echocardiogram is a graphic outline of the heart's movement. During the test, ultrasound (high-frequency sound wave) provides pictures of the heart's valves and chambers and helps the echocardiogapher to evaluate the pumping action of the heart. This is often combined with Color and Doppler ultrasound to evaluate blood flow across the heart's valves.
Treadmill Stress Test
This type of test provides valuable information if the heart has sufficient blood and oxygen circulation during physical stress which may not show on resting ECG. The test may also reveal important abnormalities of the heart rhythm and blood pressure (BP).
Vascular Studies
- Vascular studies are noninvasive procedures used to assess the blood flow in the arteries and veins.
- Venous and Arterial Doppler of the Upper Extremities
- Venous and ARteral Doppler of the Lower Extremities
EEG (Electroencephalogram)
Is a test that detects abnormalities in brain waves, or in the electrical activity of the brain.
